Would this rod be suitable for a general purpose rod. For example I’m fishing for tench with a float/waggler. Then on another day I would be fishing light method feeder for carp to 10lb.

Hello, what weights do you think this rod is capable of casting(not lobbing) do you think the 1.75 top could fully cast 3.5 ounces and the 2.2 top 4.5 ounces 70 yards? Thank you

Hi Paul, thanks for the question. I’m sure the rod will be capable of casting those weights but, for me, not at that range or further. I think you would be pushing the limit on it. I would be looking at an out and out distance feeder rod for that sort of range and they can punch out the weights you mentioned. I have linked them HERE for you to browse. Hope this helps.
