Questions and Answers
Hi guys, what reel would be compatible to use with Drennan Specialist 11ft 1.25 tc rod Many thanks, Mark.
Hi Mark,
I would recommend any front or rear drag reel around the 4000 size. A good quality example of this would be a Daiwa Ninja 4012A. I have attached a link HERE to that reel.

Hy there! I recently moved to the UK, before I sold all my fishing gear. Now I would like to buy some rods. I really like the Drennan specialist specimen 11ft 1.25lb rod, but i can not find any info about the ring sizes. Can you measure the butt and top ring diameter? Thanks for advance
Hi Matt, thanks for the question. I have put the measurement below for you, please note they are approximate. Hope this helps. Regards, Tackleuk
Butt (Internal): 20mm
Tip (internal): 6mm
Would the 11ft 1.25lb rod but suited for Perch feeder fishing on bobbins? Is there anything else more suitable?
Hi John, thanks for this. This should be fine for your Perch fishing on a bobbin setup. The only thing that I can think of is just a standard feeder fishing set up but then you wouldn't need your bobbins. Hope this helps. Regards, Andy
Are Drenham 1.25 11 ft rods ok for float fishing ?
Hi Peter,
The 1.25lb version is a great all rounder and will cover you for float fishing for just about all species up to low doubles.
Regards
TackleUK
How soft is the 1.25lb rod? I'm looking for something akin to a power float for bream and tench, but not something that'd be so brutal that it'd bump smaller silvers off. Would this be an option?
Hi Chris. This rod should be fine to use for this type of fishing you have suggested. Kind regards TackleUK
