I bought this rod for barbel and also lake fishing for medium sized Carp and so far it hasn't disappointed. I have used both tip and both are good though there is a massive difference between the two obviously. I like the progressive bend in the rod which is from the butt right to the tip. The 2lb tip is definitely for large fish as the carp I had on it that were up to about 4lb didn't even bend it.
The look of the rod is really nice and looks professionally finished with a nice tube that's good as its light enough to put in your holdall.
My only slight gripe would be that I feel the butt of the rod is quite narrow but its a minor gripe overall, can't wait to get a big Barbel on it!
Used this rod for the first time today, the rod when first supplied had a guide lining missing, TackleUK were fantastic and replaced the rod the very same week, so a big thank you to them.
The rod I feel has a good action, I was using the standard tip, light and easy to handle, it has enough power to cope with most situations, I had planned to fish the Kennet for Barbel but a last minute change of plan saw me on a lake instead.
A bargain at just under £60.00 and well worth the money, a rod I would be happy to recommend.
