Hi Kevin, Manufactures these days generally don't want customers to think that there is worse than someone else down to weight as this is not what is crucial when buying a pole, the most important thing is the balance and feel of the pole. Most people have no issue holding the weight of the modern pole especially in the shorter lengths and it only becomes a real issue when you are fishing at lengths up to 16-18m.
