Hi i'm quite new to fishing - how would i know what weight line to use on this rod? TIA.

Hi Charlie,
For a setup like this I'd definitely recommend going for a braided mainline. For me personally I tend to go quite heavy with a breaking strain of 20 to 30lb. It sounds like overkill but as braid is super thin compared to mono it will still cast extremely well. The added bonus of using this in conjunction with a trace, or heavy fluorocarbon leader is you tend to get your lures back when they get snagged.
