- So what exactly is Black Label we hear you ask? Black Label took 18 months of development and is a range of bankware that is constructed from chunky aluminium that has an anodised black coating. Not only does it look stunning but it has also been designed to be incredibly practical as well; with every single item designed to work together as a complete system.
- The chunky black-look; combined with no thumb screws and subtle logos that are stamped into the aluminium itself make this range a thing of beauty. However, as we said previously the range is about far more than just looking good, so please read on...
- The 3-Rod Adjustable Buzz Bars come supplied as a pair with one for the bite alarms and one for back rests. They have a central screw thread for attaching to a bankstick but also have blanking caps on each end. This means that you can use the Black Label Conversion Kit to transform them from standard buzz bars into an adjustable goal post setup. In addition the central thread can then be removed to make them look like ‘proper’ goal posts.

For as long as I can remember I have been a user of stainless banksticks and buzz bars - Solar and Matrix Innovations being among my well-used favourites over the years, as I am sure is the case with many of you reading this.
More recently, there has been a trend towards black bankware, with companies such as Cygnet and Fox leading the way. So, it was inevitable that I'd find myself using and abusing some of the black gear and, having done so with Fox's Black Label range for some time now, I feel ready to report back.
Let's start with what I like about it, and there’s plenty. The thickness of the sticks and bars is just right. Not too thick so as to look ungainly, but not too thin, which just would not suit black bankware at all, in my opinion. There are plenty of options available in the wide range, too, from sticks and bars, to stabilisers, snag ears, stage stands, goalpost adaptor kits and even a pod.
They've performed well enough and, I think, look great. Although the sticks do mark very easily, this marking obviously only occurs at the level that will normally be beneath the ground, so there's no real issue there, as far as I am concerned.
They're relatively easy to push into the ground, obviously depending on conditions. The more recent introduction of the Powerpoint (heavy-duty threaded) Points has improved this considerably, and I have been grateful for this on a particular water that I fish.
